Terms of Service

Last updated: October 7, 2026

These terms apply when you use idealoftech.ca or buy products or services from IdealofTech, 472 Taunton Rd W, Oshawa, ON L1L 0W1 ("we", "us"). Our store runs on Shopify, but your purchase contract is with IdealofTech. These terms work together with our Returns & Refunds, Shipping, Warranty, Condition Grades, Repair Terms, Sell or Trade Terms and Privacy Policy.

1. Your consumer rights come first

If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms excludes, limits or waives any right, warranty or remedy you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory. If anything here conflicts with those laws, the law applies, and the rest of these terms still applies. If a term is unclear, it's interpreted in your favour where the law requires it.

2. Who can buy: consumers and businesses

You're welcome to buy for personal, household or business use. Buying a business-grade product doesn't make you a business customer. What matters is the purpose of your purchase. If you buy on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorized to do so. Section 9 explains the few terms that differ for business customers. Bulk and team orders can also be arranged through our Business page.

3. Products, condition and photos

We sell new, open-box and refurbished products. Each listing shows its condition and, where applicable, a cosmetic grade as defined on our Condition Grades page, and any unit-specific defects. We describe products as accurately as we can. Unless a listing says its photos show the actual unit, photos show a representative unit of the same model and grade, and unit-specific differences are described in the listing. If a product doesn't match its description, see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

4. Orders, acceptance and availability

  • Before you pay, checkout shows the items, itemized price, taxes, shipping and total, and lets you review and correct your order and accept or decline it.
  • Your order is accepted when we send the order confirmation email. That email, together with these terms and the policies linked from our website and checkout, makes up your copy of the agreement, which you can keep and print.
  • We may decline an order before acceptance, for example if we suspect fraud.
  • If, after accepting your order, we find an item is unavailable or a unit doesn't meet its listing, we'll tell you promptly. You can choose a comparable alternative if we offer one, wait if we expect stock, or cancel for a full refund. Your legal remedies aren't affected.

5. Prices and genuine pricing errors

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars. Taxes and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a genuine error, such as a typo, we'll contact you before shipping. You can then choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We won't charge you more without your agreement.

6. Shipping, returns and warranty

Shipping, delivery and risk of loss in transit are covered by our Shipping Policy. We remain responsible for a parcel lost or damaged in transit on a delivery we arranged. Returns and refunds are covered by our Returns & Refunds Policy. Warranty coverage is set out in our Warranty Policy.

7. Repairs, trade-ins and bookings

Repair services follow our Repair Terms, and trade-ins follow our Sell or Trade Terms. Appointment requests made through our website are confirmed only when we reply.

8. Using our website

  • Please use the site lawfully. Don't interfere with its security, try to access accounts that aren't yours, or misuse our forms.
  • Our browser test tools and games are offered for convenience. A browser test isn't a full hardware diagnosis.
  • You're free to publish honest reviews of our products and services, positive or negative.
  • Site content, our name and logo belong to us or our licensors. Other brand names belong to their owners.

9. Liability

We're responsible for the products and services we supply as required by law, including your statutory warranties and remedies, and for losses caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order.

Business customers only: to the extent the law allows, we're not liable to business customers for lost profits, lost business or business interruption, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for that order. This doesn't apply to loss caused by our negligence where the law doesn't permit such limits, and it doesn't apply to consumers.

10. Disputes and governing law

Please contact us first. Most issues can be fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. If you're a consumer in another province or territory, you also keep the protection of its consumer laws and may bring a claim in its courts. We don't require arbitration, and we don't restrict your right to go to court or to take part in a class action.

11. Changes

We may update these terms for future orders. The version posted when you place an order applies to that order. We won't change the terms of an order you've already placed without your agreement.
